The T.L. Hale Scholarship and Benevolence Fund helps create opportunities for deserving students and provide assistance to families in times of need. Through scholarships, we help open doors to higher education and invest in the next generation.

Who Can Apply
T.L. Hale Scholarships are designed for graduating seniors from Birmingham and Jefferson County who meet the following general criteria.
Graduating Senior
A graduating senior from a Birmingham or Jefferson County metro high school.
College-Bound
Planning to enroll in a college or university to pursue a degree.
Character & Achievement
Demonstrates outstanding character, community involvement, and academic achievement.
Prepare Your Application
Complete applications typically include the following items. Please verify current-cycle requirements before submitting.
Application Form
Complete the official T.L. Hale scholarship application.
500-Word Essay
Respond to the required essay prompt for the current cycle.
Official Transcript
Submit an official copy of your high school transcript.
ACT / SAT Scores
Include scores if required for the current application cycle.(Unless applying test-optional)
Two Recommendations
Provide two letters of recommendation.
Student Aid Report
Provide the requested FAFSA / Student Aid Report documentation.
